4. AGE CRITERIA
Age:- Candidate should not be below 18 years and above 47
years (10 years age relaxation included) of age as on the first day of January,
2019.
5. Procedure of selection
(1)
There shall be no written test or interview
marks.
(2)
For Clerks
(i)
Should qualify English and Punjabi typewriting
test, respectively, on a computer at a speed of 30 words per minute.
(ii)
Exemption from proficiency in typewriting shall
be granted on the basis of certificate issued by the competent authority.
(iii) All
candidates shall be called for Punjabi and English typewriting test on
computer. 
(iv) The
list of eligible candidate category wise would be put up on the Department
websites.
(v)
The selection of
eligible candidates will be on the basis of Graduation only. The merit list of
eligible candidates will be prepared on the basis of %age of marks obtained in
Graduation.

For the rest of the
posts, the selection will be made as per merit prepared on the basis of
essential qualifications subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and

(4)
Different categories of posts in Service Group-'C'
and 'D' shall be filled up by organizing "Special Recruitment Camp at the
State Level". The date of aforesaid Camp will be intimated later on.
(5)
The candidates will be requested to bring the
following original certificate/ documents along with one spare set of self
attested copies of documents in the Special Recruitment Camp:-

(6)
In the case of two or more candidates obtaining
equal marks, the candidate older in age shall be placed higher in the order of
merit.
(7)
Eligibility of candidates for the concerned post
will be determined by the Screening Committee. The selected candidates will be
allocated for appointment to the concerned Municipal Corporations and Municipal
Councils-Nagar Panchayats by the Screening Committee and its decision in this
regard shall be final

(9)
The Department of Local Government, Punjab
reserve the right to withdraw any kind of posts OR amend the selection
procedure/qualifications required for any post mentioned in the advertisement,
